Bayern's Danks has own plan to beat Dortmund

Bayern Munich assistant coach Aaron Danks says there will be differences in how he prepares the side for Saturday's big football Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund compared to absent boss Vincent Kompany.

Kompany is recovering from illness at home having spent five days in hospital after collapsing at training last Friday. He has been diagnosed with meningeal irritation.

Englishman Danks has overseen two wins already while in temporary charge and will again be the main man in the dug-out at home to title rivals Dortmund.

"There are obviously differences. Vincent always said he doesn't want us to be mini Vinnies. We're all different and have different strengths. We complement each other well and have the same vision, even though we see things differently," Danks told a news conference on Friday.

"But not much has changed in how we train and we're still having fun out on the pitch."

Danks said Kompany was not involved in the planning for the game between the top two, who are level on points.

"We don't talk to him about football. We've been given clear instructions there. He needs to recover and spend time with his family. We're not getting him involved so he can be fully back at it when he returns," the assistant added.

"It's a big game that the whole world will be watching. We'll concentrate today on the tactics and want to show all the players what to do. There won't be any big changes. We're ready for the game."

Jonas Urbig will be in goal with Manuel Neuer still out with a foot problem. But head of sport Max Eberl said midfielder Joshua Kimmich could return after a period of leave following the death of his father.

"I've spoken with him," he said. "Life is different for him now. We'll give him all the support he needs. If Jo feels ready to get back involved, that could be tomorrow or not. He'll decide that with the coaching team."
