Kompany: International break doesn't play role in Bayern's line-up

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said that the long international break doesn't play a role in his decision on the starting line-up and that his players are all "fired up."
"We've only played six matches so far. The national team doesn't play a part in my decision on the starting line-up. I'm absolutely delighted when the players come back feeling positive. But if that's not the case, they can put it behind them," Kompany said in a news conference on Friday.
Bayern resume their season following a three-week break with a trip to Bavarian neighbours Augsburg on Saturday. The German record champions are second in the standings, two points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
"We've got an opportunity on Saturday, the players were really fired up yesterday (Thursday). Now it's all about Bayern again. They want to prove themselves time and again in training and intend to do so against Augsburg," Kompany said.
Besides Jamal Musiala, all players came back fit from international duty, the coach said.
Musiala suffered a muscle injury during the warm-up for Germany's Nations League clash against the Netherlands on September 24.
The midfielder has been on a tough run of setbacks. He missed a large portion of the previous season due to a broken fibula. This term, he missed the first Bundesliga match against VfB Stuttgart and the German Cup first round after he collapsed twice during pre-season friendly matches.
Musiala eventually revealed that he has been diagnosed with absence seizures and that the episodes became visible due to a change in his medication.
"I can relate to his story of setbacks, I've experienced that often in my own career," Kompany said.
"Coming back from that is a great strength. I hope he can happily go on playing over the next few years. But when you make a strong comeback, it's something that stays with you for life."
