Germany's Daimler Truck sees 26% jump in sales as US market rebounds

8.10.2026, 13:56

Sales at German commercial vehicle manufacturer Daimler Truck jumped 26% year-on-year in the third quarter, the company said on Thursday.

A total of 91,260 vehicles were sold in the three-month period, a considerable rise from a difficult third quarter in 2025.

Sales rose sharply in North America, the company's most profitable region, with an increase of more than half. Daimler Truck's sales collapsed the previous year due to the tariff upheaval caused by US President Donald Trump.

The Mercedes-Benz truck brand, which is particularly strong in Europe and South America, also increased its sales, while results were weaker for buses and electric trucks.

The sharp overall sales increase signals Daimler Truck - one of the world's leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles - is on the path to recovery.

However, the company, based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen near Stuttgart, continues to be weighed down by economic weakness in Europe and particularly in its home market of Germany.

Chief executive Karin Radström and her management team are due to present the financial results for the third quarter on November 6.
