Berlin flies flags at half-mast in honour of Norwegian king's funeral

Flags were flying at half-mast in Berlin's government district on Wednesday to mark the funeral of Norway's King Harald V.

Flags were ordered to be lowered at buildings housing the highest federal authorities, including the iconic Reichstag building in central Berlin, which is home to the lower house of parliament.

Numerous European heads of state and royals are attending the state funeral of King Harald V of Norway in Oslo.

President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has travelled to the Norwegian capital to represent Germany.

King Harald V, who was 89, died in hospital on August 28 following an infection.
