Elversberg launch second appeal against coach ban for Bayern game

Bundesliga sensations Elversberg have again appealed against coach Vincent Wagner's suspension, which could mean he is banned from the touchline for Sunday's home clash between the promoted side and German record champions Bayern Munich.

Wagner was shown a second yellow card during last weekend's 4-3 win at Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After an incorrect throw-in decision that led to a Gladbach goal, which referee Martin Petersen later acknowledged, the 40-year-old entered the pitch to protest and was booked. During the half-time break, he again approached the referee and was shown a second yellow card.

"I really didn't do anything. I didn't complain. I want to put that on record. I didn't run and I didn't wave either," he said after being sent to the stands.

A first appeal against the one-game touchline ban was rejected by the German Football Federation (DFB) because there were "no indications of an obvious error by the referee." 

The second appeal, which was possible within 24 hours, means an oral hearing will now take place on Friday, the DFB said in a statement on Wednesday.

Elversberg, one of the smallest clubs ever to reach the German men's top flight, have stunned German football by winning their first two games in their debut Bundesliga season.
