Woman dies after knife attack at German rail station

A woman was attacked with a knife and fatally injured overnight at a railway station in Germany's Bavaria region, police said on Sunday. 

A 27-year-old German man was detained at the scene on suspicion of carrying out the attack at the station in the city of Rosenheim, according to a police statement. 

The woman - a 31-year-old British national - was taken to hospital but died there from her injuries. The circumstances and motive behind the attack were not immediately known.
