Brown and Olise score as Bayern edge Dortmund in Super Cup

Bayern Munich started the new season as they finished the last by lifting another trophy on Saturday following a 2-1 win at Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup.
Nathaniel Brown netted on his competitive debut for the German double winners in front of new Germany coach Jürgen Klopp and Michael Olise produced a moment of magic just before the break for the second.
Hosts Dortmund, playing in the season curtain-raiser thanks to finishing second in the Bundesliga last term, pulled one back through substitute Fabio Silva on 75 minutes but ran out of time.
Ramy Bensebaini thought he had equalized at 1-1 but was flagged offside, with the video assistant deciding he was interfering in play irrespective of whether he touched Julian Ryerson's cross with his head. The Algerian defender was sent off in the last minute for a studs-up tackle on Ismael Saibari's ankle.
"A big win to start the season," Bayern forward Harry Kane told Sky. "The first half I thought we were excellent, we could have been 3 or 4-0 up."
Right-footed Ryerson was playing left wingback for the home side while Konstantinos Karetsas and Joane Gadou had testing official Dortmund debuts.
Bayern debutant Brown, a rare bright spot for Germany at the World Cup, was bought as a left back but started the Super Cup in midfield. He scored after 28 minutes when Olise set him up after Ryerson had let the France star beat him.
Dortmund coach Niko Kovač appealed for handball against Olise, but replays were inconclusive.
Impudent flick
There was no doubt about the second as Olise continued where he left off last season and at the World Cup with yet more outrageous flair. He controlled a long ball and drove into the box before an impudent flick sent the ball past Gregor Kobel.
Dortmund threw on another new Greek in Giannis Konstantelias at half-time and fellow debutant Joey Veerman just after the hour.
Another substitute, Silva, halved the deficit when his effort deflected off Alphonso Davies to give Manuel Neuer little chance. Bayern then saw out the game reasonably well, apart from one mistake by Neuer where he quickly recovered and Maxi Beier firing over at the death for Dortmund.
"A title always means a lot," Bayern defender Jonathan Tah said after a 12th Super Cup for the German giants. "We know we can get better, absolutely. But we showed that we are hungry and are always trying to bring our best onto the pitch."
Bayern's big new signing Saibari came off the bench late on after only just recovering from a hamstring tweak picked up starring as a playmaker for Morocco in the World Cup. He still found time to be clattered by Bensebaini.
Jamal Musiala was not in the squad after twice collapsing with absence seizures in two recent Bayern friendlies. A change in his medication is thought to be to blame and the Bavarians hope he can return to a situation where his condition rarely flares up in games.
Bayern are big favourites for a third straight Bundesliga title under Vincent Kompany and start the defence of their crown on Friday at home to VfB Stuttgart.
Dortmund, most pundits pick to be second again, host Hamburg in their league opener next Saturday hoping for better luck.
Kobel said: "In the end it was a shame because we had some chances. There were a lot of good things out there."
