Speculation about a transfer of Bayern Munich's Michael Olise to Real Madrid has gained momentum again shortly before the end of the World Cup.

Sports daily L'Equipe splashed a photo of France winger Olise on its front page on Friday and wrote "In the mood for Real."

The French paper said that Olise has expressed his desire for a transfer to the Spanish giants internally among the World Cup squad and sought information from Real's France players Kylian Mbappé und Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Olise came to Munich in 2024 and has a contract until 2029, without a release clause. He arrived for €55 million ($63 million) from Crystal Palace while his value has now almost tripled to €150 million.

Ambitious Munich have declared Olise not for sale but it is not clear whether a huge transfer fee could change their stance.

Olise has impressed in Munich with 32 goals and 46 assists in 107 Bayern matches. L'Equipe said that Bayern's other France player, Daqyot Upamecano, is doing his best to make Olise stay.

L'Equipe said that Real president Florentino Pérez is a big fan of Olise and added that the club want to get down to business after the World Cup which ends on the weekend. France play England for third place on Saturday.

In order to finance Olise, Real were ready to let players ago, possibly even their Brazil star winger Vinícius Júnior, L'Equipe said.

Last month, Real dismissed reports that they were in contact with Olise about a potential transfer, saying there had "neither been direct or indicrect contact with the named player, his representatives or people surrounding him."

The club said that based on the long loyalty between the two clubs any interest would start between the clubs.
