Germany defender Jonathan Tah would participate in a penalty shoot-out again despite missing a decisive spot-kick in the national team's defeat to Paraguay on Monday.
"I'd take that again next time! With complete conviction and confidence that I'd score it for Germany," he wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.
Tah admitted, however, that he's still thinking about the missed penalty.
"That missed penalty has gone through my head thousands of times, and you try to somehow steer it into the goal in your mind. But the reality is that the ball didn't go in. And that hurts," he said.
Overall, he said he was "incredibly disappointed and sad" about the elimination in the round of 32.
"The team, our country, and everyone who supports German football had hoped for so much more," he wrote. Accepting that the team was unable to achieve a better result despite its best efforts "is the hardest part right now."
Tah, 30, also hinted that he's not thinking about retirement from international football: "We as a team will keep going, and I'll keep going too, no matter what happens!"
The Bayern defender would have become Germany's hero if his goal in extra-time to make it 2-1 hadn't been ruled out. The match ended 1-1 and the dispute for the last 16 went to the shoot-out.
Paraguay went on to win 4-3 on penalties as Germany were eliminated. Kai Havertz and Nick Woltemade also missed their respective spot-kicks.
