Temperatures could surpass 35 degrees Celsius in Germany this week as the country bakes under an early summer heatwave.
The hot weather is set to begin on Wednesday, with the German Meteorological Service expecting south-western regions to climb above 30 degrees, with highs of 33 degrees.
Thursday is expected to bring a further rise in temperatures, with heat spreading across the country.
The Upper Rhine region on the border with France is likely to see the worst of the heatwave, soaring to up to 37 degrees on Friday.
"Summer is set to arrive in full force," the service said.
