After a bizarre set loss, german tennis pro Alexander Zverev turned things around and advanced to the semifinals. His opponent is now known. Will the German become the record champion in Munich?

Home favourite Alexander Zverev held his nerve to beat Francisco Cerundolo on Friday and book a semi-final spot at the Munich Open.

The top seed and defending champion recovered after letting slip a double break lead in the first set to claim a 5-7, 6-0, 6-2 win.

"I played well, I have to admit. I hope I can stand here again with the trophy on Sunday," Zverev said.

He will now take Flavio Cobolli, who cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Vit Kopriva.
