Another suspect has been detained on a European arrest warrant for allegedly procuring weapons for the Palestinian militant group Hamas, German prosecutors said on Tuesday.
The man was apprehended by border officials at an airport in Cyprus on Friday after entering from Lebanon, the German Federal Public Prosecutor's Office said. His apartment in Berlin was searched on Sunday.
Since October 2025, the Karlsruhe-based agency has had several suspects arrested in connection with the procurement of weapons that were allegedly set to be used for assassinations targeting Israeli or Jewish institutions in Germany and Europe.
Most recently, a suspect was detained at Berlin Airport in January upon his arrival from Beirut.
The Federal Public Prosecutor's Office accuses the latest suspect of membership in a foreign terrorist organization.
He is alleged to have supplied another Hamas member with 300 rounds of live ammunition via a third party.
The suspect is to be extradited to Germany and brought before the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe, which will decide on his pretrial detention.
The extradition could take several weeks or even months.
