Bayern contract talks with Laimer on hold but that's 'not a problem'

Bayern Munich and versatile Konrad Laimer are far apart in their contract renewal ideas but board member for sport Max Eberl is relaxed over the issue.
Defender and midfielder Laimer came to Bayern in 2023 and has a contract until 2027 when he will be 30.
Eberl said ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League last 16 match at Italy's Atalanta that there was neither "resentment" nor anything "bad" about the situation.
"We would like to renew. There were talks but now the case is on hold and that is not a problem," he said.
"They have ideas, we have ideas, and they have to fit together in some way. That's not the case at the moment, but it's not a problem."
Eberl added in reference to some injury problems of Laimer earlier in the year that "we are extremely happy that Konni is here, that he is healthy again and that he is available for the matches."
Bayern appear not willing to give Austrian international Laimer a major pay rise with a look at overall squad costs.
The Bundesliga champions have signalled that they want to act in a stricter way after the months-long case involving centre back Dayot Upamecano who eventually signed a new contract.
Bayern also want to talk with striker Harry Kane and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer about renewals in the second quarter of the year. Kane has a deal until 2027, team captain Manuel Neuer, who turns 40 later in March, until June 30.
