Musiala's comeback goal tops Champions League cruise for Bayern

Jamal Musiala was all smiles after scoring on his first start for Bayern Munich since July in Wednesday's 2-1 Champions League win at PSV Eindhoven.

The Bundesliga leaders had already qualified for the last 16 but still got the job done in the Netherlands. They finished second to Arsenal, who had previously beaten the Bavarians to be the only side with eight wins from eight in the league phase.

Bayern managed seven and it was partly thanks to Musiala, who is back from a broken leg. The Germany playmaker has come on as a substitute of late but was ready to start in Eindhoven and gave his side the lead on 58 minutes.

"It was really good. I am in the groove, it was a good day," he told DAZN.

Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl was amazed by the 22-year-old.

"No one expected miracles from Jamal and yet he played very, very well after such a long time out," he said.

Harry Kane got the winner off the bench and Bayern can now rest for two midweeks in February during the play-offs, while they wait to see if they will meet German rivals Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Olympiacos or Atalanta in the last 16.
