Germany goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen appears set to complete a loan move until the end of the season from Spanish champions Barcelona to La Liga rivals Girona.
Ter Stegen is not part of the Barca squad for Wednesday's Champions League match at Slavia Prague, and multiple news reports said that Barca have given him permission to go to Girona for a medical.
Ter Stegen, who was sidelined until December following back surgery in summer, is no longer first choice at Barca as coach Hansi Flick prefers summer signing Joan Garcia between the posts.
The 33-year-old German came to Barcelona in 2014 and has a contract until 2028.
He needs matches to retain in his number one status in the German national team for the World Cup later this year in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Oliver Baumann played in all qualifiers when Ter Stegen was injured.
