The combined revenues of the top ranked women's football clubs generated more than €150 million ($175 million) for the first time in 2025, consultancy firm Deloitte said.
The 15 women's clubs generating the highest revenues combined for €158 million, a 35% increase year-on-year. The clubs don't include key markets such as Australia, Sweden and the United States as the data was not made available to Deloitte, the firm said.
London club Arsenal Women topped the list for the first time with revenues of €25.6 million, an increase of 43% from the previous season. Eight of the top 15 clubs hailed from England.
Chelsea Women ranked in a close second at €25.4 million, having posted the highest commercial revenue amongst the top 15 at €19.1 million.
Barcelona Femení was third with €22 million after another successful domestic season.
Bayern Frauen doubled their total revenue to €7.2 million, good enough for ninth, having benefited greatly from winning the inaugural World Sevens Football tournament.
At the mini-competition held in Portugal last May, the German club earned around €2.3 million – €1 million more than they would have earned for winning the Champions League the same year.
"The women's game is beginning to carve its own path with new and expanded brand partnerships, new ticketing strategies, and dedication to truly understanding the evolving fanbase," Deloitte's Jennifer Haskel said, warning that "as average revenues reach a new high, there is a meaningful gap forming between the top ranked clubs and the rest of the pack."
Haskel called for "time, investment, and effort" as women's football shifts "from the start up phase to the established phase."
"As further milestones are hit, including new and expanded competitions on the biggest stages, industry leaders must continue to innovate, while also protecting the wants and needs of fans and players to foster a more sustainable future for the game."
