Already dominant Bayern to put 'foot down' once season resumes

Bayern Munich head into the mid-season break full of confidence after 22 wins from 25 games, but hope their list of absences will quickly clear up after being down to the bare bones in Sunday's 4-0 win at Heidenheim.
Vincent Kompany's side are nine points clear in the Bundesliga while their only defeat so far came in the Champions League at Arsenal.
After a short break, Bayern return on January 11 at home to Wolfsburg having already guaranteed they will be top of the table and unofficial winter champions once the halfway point of the season is reached next month.
Bayern simply want to "keep going" and "put our foot down until the end," Kompany told reporters.
Harry Kane became the quickest Bundesliga player to 100 goal involvements with his late strike in Heidenheim, having only been in Germany for two and a half seasons.
His fitness seems key to Bayern's hopes of a tilt at a treble, as does getting a host of players healthy again.
The illness-related absences of Aleksander Pavlovic, Tom Bischof and Sacha Boey on Sunday added to a long injury list including Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala.
"The week felt like a coronavirus week," Kompany said.
Bayern expect most of the squad to be back for Wolfsburg, with Musiala returning at some point in January from his broken leg.
