Prevc wins women's jumping in Engelberg as Germans finally find form

Twice defending World Cup champion Nika Prevc of Slovenia won out with jumps of 128.5 metres and 136m for 284.1 points on the large hill in Engelberg on Sunday.
Norway's Anna Odine Strøm was second in Switzerland and Katharina Schmid picked up Germany's first podium of the season. Fellow German Selina Freitag had the biggest jump of all with 138m but she fell on landing to lose points. She walked away seemingly unharmed.
Japan's standings leader Nozomi Maruyama, who won for a fifth time this season on the same hill on Saturday, was only sixth. The men compete in Engelberg later on Sunday.
The women next jump in the Two Nights Tour on December 31 and January 1 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen und Oberstdorf.
It is set to be the last edition of the mini tournament. The women are due to join the men in the famous Four Hills Tournament from next season.
