Michael Olise was involved in all goals as Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich came from behind to thrash Freiburg 6-2 on Saturday, while VfB Stuttgart snatched a point in a dramatic 3-3 draw at Borussia Dortmund.
Bayer Leverkusen, meanwhile, cruised to a 3-1 win at VfL Wolfsburg. Jonas Hofmann, Edmond Tapsoba and Malik Tillman scored before the break and Denis Vavro pulled one back for the hosts in the 57th.
Elsewhere, Augsburg claimed their first victory since October 4 in a 1-0 win against SV Hamburg, while Borussia Mönchengladbach defeated Heidenheim 3-0 for their third consecutive league win.
In the late game, Eintracht Frankfurt claimed a turbulent 4-3 win at Cologne. Frankfurt fell behind 1-0, but Jonathan Burkardt's brace led a 4-1 turnaround. Cologne scored two late goals, but the guests held on to their lead.
On Friday, Mainz and Hoffenheim played out a 1-1 draw.
Olise's gala evening for Bayern
Yuito Suzuki and Johan Manzambi needed only 17 minutes to give Freiburg a 2-0 lead and put them in a good position to claim their first league win in Munich.
But Olise took control of the game and started Bayern's comeback journey carrying the ball to the box, going past two opponents and finding Lennart Karl, who pulled one back for the Bavarians in the 22nd minute.
Shortly before the break, Karl returned the favour and served Olise. Goalkeeper Noah Atubolu touched the ball but couldn't stop the Frenchman's shot from falling into the net
Karl scored a second in the 53rd but the goal was ruled out due to an offside in the build-up. But Bayern took the lead just two minutes later as Dayot Upamecano finished off Olise's corner with a first-time shot.
Olise was also a factor in Harry Kane's goal in the 60th as he had a superb play to keep the ball inbound before bringing Karl and Aleksandar Pavlovic into play, with the ball eventually finding the path of the England captain.
Olise again did his magic to serve substitute Nicolas Jackson in the 78th before crowning his stunning match with a brace to complete the final score in the 84th.
Bayern now top the standings eight points ahead of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
"The first 20 minutes weren't good from us, but then we showed character. The goal to take the lead shortly after half-time obviously helped us. We came out with significantly more energy in the second half," Kane said, as Bayern will now prepare for the Champions League clash against Arsenal.
Both have won all of their matches, but Bayern top the standings on goals scored.
"Arsenal is a team that makes it difficult for their opponents. But we have to analyse them and find out where we can hurt them," Kane said.
Undav rescues Stuttgart
Dortmund also built a 2-0 lead against Stuttgart in the first half as Emre Can scored from the spot in the 34th and Maximilian Beier collected the rebound from Serhou Guirassy's effort to double their advantage.
But the Dortmund defence failed to clear a looping ball into the area and Deniz Undav took advantage, hooking the ball over his shoulder and into the net in the 47th.
Guirassy had a goal disallowed for offside in the 54th, before Undav completed a corner into the goal in the 70th to equalize for Stuttgart.
Karim Adeyemi led a counterattack and thought he had the winner for Dortmund in the 89th, but Undav completed a hat-trick in stoppage time, firing a low shot past goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, who just watched the ball fall into the net.
"It was an extraordinary match. It felt like a win. We showed incredible character and fully deserved to take point. Scoring three goals is always nice, but doing so against Dortmund is even more special," Undav said.
Dortmund remain third, but Stuttgart dropped to fifth.
Leverkusen second in the table
Leverkusen took an early lead after recovering the ball following a bad clearance from the Wolfsburg defence. Tillman didn't reach Alejandro Grimaldo's pass but Hofmann did to break the deadlock in the ninth.
Tapsoba headed in Aleix Garcia's cross in the 24th and Tillman didn't waste his second chance and made it 3-0 in the 33rd.
Denis Vavro pulled one back for Wolfsburg in the 57th and it looked like there could be a fight when Jonas Wind added a second for the hosts, but his goal was ruled out for offside.
Leverkusen are second in the standings ahead of RB Leipzig's match against Werder Bremen on Sunday.
St Pauli host Union Berlin in the other Sunday game.
